Installation

Step-by-Step Assembly

Tools Required: None - hand assembly only
Time: 15-20 minutes

Step 1: Install Drinking Cups

  1. Locate eight pre-drilled holes in bucket (distributed around the sides)
  2. Hand-screw each cup into holes from outside - no tools needed
  3. Tighten until cup base contacts bucket wall

Note: 2 spare cups are included for future replacements if needed

Step 2: Position Washers (CRITICAL)

  1. Reach inside bucket to exposed threads
  2. Slide star washer onto each threaded stem
  3. Ensure washer is OUTSIDE the bucket wall (creates watertight seal)

This is the most important step for leak-resistant performance.

Step 3: Secure with Wing Nuts

  1. Thread wing nut onto each cup's internal threads
  2. Tighten firmly by hand until snug
  3. Don't overtighten - firm hand pressure is sufficient

Step 4: Create Elevated Stand

Place drinker on bricks, pavers, or platform (10-15cm high). Position so cup tops align with your smallest bird's shoulder height.

  1. Unlatch and lift weatherproof lid using the two latches
