Installation Instructions - Chicken Nipple Drinker

Remove the Wing Nuts and Nipples

Step 1

Remove the wing nuts and the 6 nipples from the pack provided.

You will use 4 nipples on the drinker, and the remaining 2 are spare replacements in case a nipple becomes worn or clogged over time.

Keeping the spare nipples in a safe place ensures you always have a backup if needed.

Insert the Nipples Into the Pre-Drilled Holes

Step 2

Using your hand, insert each nipple into the pre-drilled holes on the drinker.

Make sure the rubber washer sits on the outside of the drinker.

This creates the seal that prevents leaks.

Secure the Nipples From the Inside

Step 3

Once all the nipples are inserted, attach the wing nuts to the exposed threads inside the drinker.

Fasten the wing nuts until they sit tightly against the inside wall of the bucket.

This keeps each nipple firmly in place and leak-resistant.

Place the Drinker on a Stand at the Correct Height

Step 4

Place the drinker on a solid stand.

We recommend that the top of the nipples are level with your smallest chicken's shoulder.

This makes drinking comfortable and ensures access to the entire flock.

Remove the Seal Tab and Fill With Water

Step 5

Open the lid and remove the seal tab on the edge of the drinker.

The seal tab must be removed so the lid can open and close properly and form a tight weatherproof seal.

Fill the drinker with fresh water and close the lid firmly.

Please note: the lid has a tight seal to keep water fresh and clean.

Training (If Your Chickens Are New to Nipples)

Step 6

If your chickens haven’t used nipple drinkers before, they may need a little training.

Simply tap their beak gently onto the steel nipple a few times.

Once they see water appear, they quickly understand how the system works.

You’ll only need to do this once.

Fixing a Leaky Nipple (If Required)

Step 7

If a nipple is dripping:

  1. Unscrew it from the drinker.
  2. Press and hold the steel nipple several times to flush it.
  3. Rinse the nipple thoroughly in a bucket of clean water while repeatedly pressing and releasing the steel pin.
  4. Reinstall and tighten.

This clears any grit or debris that may have caused the leak.
